Blue Plaques

A 'blue plaque' is a sign placed in public places in the UK to commerate links between famous people/events and particular places.

Blue plaque data was explored using English Heritage dataset and data from crowdsourced Open Plaques platform. This was enriched through Wikipedia categorization to derive connectedness of individuals, and which groups and relationships existed in London and where. Live data feeds of Wikipedia view statistics were added as a gauge of present engagement with these individuals.

Footprints of Culture

Arts and human capital are abstract values created with invisible and immeasurable assets and represented by works of art, architecture, literature, music and numerous means of artistic expression. The evidence for presence of those assets are palpable works defined by time, space, their function or message as well as their further acquired meaning and influence.
